Our team

Tina Peterson (*1969)
Tina has been working in childcare for over fifteen years, including a year at a bilingual center in Japan. She leads not only the Caterpillars (the group of children aged one to two), but is also the team leader. Tina loves having fun with the children. A paint smock is necessary to have on hand when Tina gets it in her head to let the children experiment with shaving cream, or to experience all their senses by body painting. She wants the children to experience as many different things as possible, and to explore with all their senses. Because Tina is American, she speaks English with the children.

Monika Hartmann (*1959)
Moni is Tina’s partner in the Caterpillar room. Moni is very interested in the development of children and the use of movement and action to support this development. She creates the most wonderful environments in the gross motor room for the children to explore. Moni radiates a sense of security and peacefulness which benefits not only the children, but also the rest of the team.

Katharina Bergner (*1986)
Katharina is doing her student teaching year in the Caterpillar room at Little Daisies. She is in her fifth and last year of school to become a qualified teacher. Katharina has already spent two years working with Krippe age children, and will speak German at the center.

Mireille Sharrock (*1971)
Mirelle is the lead teacher in the Butterfly classroom, where the children are between two and three years of age. Mirelle is half British and half Maltese and she speaks English with the children. She has lived in Germany for fifteen years and before coming to Little Daisies, worked for seven years in another Kinderkrippe in Munich. For Mirelle, it is important to maintain a balance between independence and guidance. She works to give the children their own space and freedom to discover, learn and explore for themselves. Mirelle is also very creative and comes up with the most unique art projects.

Tabea Leppertinger (*1987)
Tabea joined us in September of 2008 when she finished her teaching degree. She is Mirelle’s teaching partner in the Butterfly group. One of her passions is using music as an educational medium with the children. Music aids speech development through the lyrics and aids social development through the collective movement that the music brings out. When it comes to doing activities with the children, it is important for Tabea that the children learn through play and through visuals, with fun being the primary goal. Because Tabea grew up in Oberbayern, she brings a lot of her Bavarian culture into the center.

Tabitha (Titah) Awuor Otieno (*1986)
Titah is the third team member in the Butterfly classroom. She studied to work with young children in her homeland of Kenya. Titah has been in Germany one year, and speaks English with the children. Her enthusiasm and energy are infectious, both for the children and for the teachers.

Ruzanna Khachatryan (*1966)
Ruzanna works as our floater. When a staff member has vacation, is sick, or has school, she steps in and covers for them. Ruzeanna has two grown-up children of her own, so she brings with her experience with children in a home environment. This is Ruzanna’s first year working in the classroom at Little Daisies and we look forward to having her with us.
